What can I do if my bills are piling up and I’m unemployed?

Colorado Springs Bankruptcy lawyer Kim WelchUnemployed? You Have Options.

Losing your job is tough. Everything you know is in jeopardy if you don’t act fast.  Don’t bury your head in the sand!

My recommendation is to call any creditors the day you receive the bill that you are unable to pay. Most companies will work with you to postpone the due date and/or to work out a payment plan.  However, keep in mind that you are pushing off payments until later, and you may incur additional charges and late fees.

Furthermore, you should never simply ignore a debt. Not paying your debts or paying them late can follow you up to 7 years. There are ways to repair your credit, including bankruptcy, which will give you a fresh start. However, you can and must deal with this situation so that it does not snowball and so that you can get out from under the stress that the situation is causing.

Please contact my office at 888-590-5510 for a free no obligation consultation to see if you qualify for a fresh start and let me be a Bulldog for you!
